North Queensland receives vital services

Any business owner will know that the most important aspect of a business is its workforce.

While an efficient management strategy and comprehensive business insurance package provide valuable support for the day-to-day running of your enterprise, the most integral part of your company is your staff.

Therefore it is important that you provide a safe and stable working environment for your team to encourage productivity and staff morale.

Builders and contractors involved in the construction of the $2.3 million Gordonvale ambulance station in Queensland are likely to have had this consideration at the forefront of their minds.

The new station in northern Queensland was officially opened today (July 5) and will significantly enhance ambulance services to the Gordonvale region.

"The new station was built on the existing Gordonvale Hospital site and will service an area from Deeral in the south, through to Wrights Creek in the north and west to the Gillies Highway," minister for police and community safety Jack Dempsey said.

"It's a highly functional facility that will be of huge benefit to the community as well as the paramedics who operate out of the station."

Mr Dempsey said the station provided a vital service to the region, responding to more than 1,000 life-threatening calls in the last financial year.
